Nicholas Warburg's (* 1992) art revolves around pasts and its potentialities. His exhibition “In Youth is Pleasure” at Synnika is, not unironically, devoted to the artist's own subjective history, his engagement with radical, polarizing eminent authorities and the gaping wounds of inner-left dissonances. His works do not only take up the almost mythically exaltered narrative of the Stammheim deaths. They also inspect, albeit subtle, the discourse on political opportunisms; about those antagonisms between anti-fascist practice and its theoretical revenants: believed to be dead, but nevertheless conjured.

Die Kunst von Nicholas Warburg (*1992) kreist um Vergangenheiten und ihre Potenzialitäten. Nicht unironisch widmet sich seine Ausstellung „In Youth is Pleasure“ im Synnika der eigenen, subjektiven Historie des Künstlers, seiner Auseinandersetzung mit radikalen, polarisierenden Koryphäen und den klaffenden Wunden innerlinker Dissonanzen. Die Werke greifen nicht nur das mittlerweile mythisch erhöhte Narrativ der Stammheim-Tode auf. Sie exerzieren gleichermaßen, wenn auch subtil, den Diskurs um politische Opportunismen; um jene Antagonismen zwischen antifaschistischer Praxis und ihrer, totgeglaubten, aber dennoch heraufbeschworenen, theoretischen Wiedergänger.
