In April 2024 the 44 Monthly collective and artist member Yifei Chen initiated “Convergence des Temps” at Synnika in Frankfurt am Main. The project was based on 44 Monthly’s most recent publications dealing with the exchange of mutualist and syndicalist practice and theory in the early 20th Century between South-East-Asia and Europe, focussing specifically on activities in southern China and France.
In the coming steps Synnika members Naomi Rado, Martin Stiehl and Jeronimo Voss cooperate with Contemporary Art Research Center HB Station in Guangzhou to continue the common research for a new print and audio/visual online publication co-produced by 44 Monthly and Synnika. “Times Converge” revolves around questions of association in art and collective practice across historical and geographical times. After opening on October 13, Synnika members will hold a series of meetings, discussion events and workshops at HB Station while conducting their research and co-production with 44 Monthly.
44 Monthly is a collective magazine that started during the Covid-19 pandemic in China and produced 10 issues since. Contributors join an experimental workflow, initially online, then evolving towards other forms and materials. In the trajectory of the exhibition of recent activities and publications of Synnika, a new issue will be produced and launched at the end of 2024 at HBStation in Guangzhou (CHN) as well as in Frankfurt (Main).

Im April 2024 initiierten das Kollektiv 44 Monthly mit Künstler und Kollektivmitglied Yifei Chen das Projekt „Convergence des Temps“ im Synnika in Frankfurt/Main. Das Projekt basiert auf jüngsten Veröffentlichungen von 44 Monthly, welche sich mit dem Austausch mutualistischer und syndikalistischer Praxis und Theorie im frühen 20. Jahrhundert zwischen Südostasien und Europa befassen, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf den Aktivitäten in Südchina und Frankreich lag.
In den kommenden Monaten werden die Synnika-Mitglieder Naomi Rado, Martin Stiehl und Jeronimo Voss mit HB Station in Guangzhou zusammenarbeiten, um die gemeinsame Recherche für eine neue Print- und audiovisuelle Online-Publikation fortzusetzen, die von 44 Monthly und Synnika gemeinsam herausgegeben wird. „Times Converge“ dreht sich um Fragen der Assoziation in der Kunst und der kollektiven Praxis über historische und geografische Zeiträume hinweg. Nach der Eröffnung am 13. Oktober werden die Telnehmer*innen eine Reihe von Treffen, Diskussionsveranstaltungen und Workshops abhalten, während sie ihre Recherche und Koproduktionen weiter fortsetzen.
44 Monthly ist eine kollektive Zeitschrift, die während der Corona-Pandemie in China entstand und seitdem 10 Ausgaben produziert hat. Die Mitwirkenden beteiligen sich an einem experimentellen Arbeitsablauf, zunächst online und dann in diversen anderen Formen und Materialien. Die Ausstellung der jüngsten Aktivitäten und Publikationen von 44 Monthly im Synnika wird eine neue Ausgabe hervorbringen, die Ende 2024 im HBStation Contemporary Art Research Center in Guangzhou (CHN) und in Frankfurt (Main) veröffentlicht wird.
