The Realism Working Group developed the flexible furniture Tablar as a permanent contribution to the SYNNIKA space. Tablar is a shelf, cabinet and table construction. The furniture supports the flexible usage concept of the room; it serves as an archive, lockable material store and work furniture for workshops and other events. A large format-filling transparent print on the front window of the SYNNIKA room shows a selection of books of the SYNNIKA team. From the outside, the window offers a first overview of the content stored in the Tablar and invites visitors to use the furniture and to deal with the topics of SYNNIKA, from housing issues to the criticism of art.

SYNNIKA is an experimental space for practice and theory, embedded in a heterogeneous community of residents, neighbors, visitors and activists. At SYNNIKA, visual art installations, workshops, discussions and other formats of coming together are organized. The room is located on the ground floor of a former office and store building at the intersection of Niddastraße and Karlstraße. Through the initiative of its current residents, the building was permanently collectivized and converted into the NIKA.haus as an integrated project of the transregional syndicate of tenements.

The Realism Working Group was founded in Frankfurt in 2008 and has been working ever since on the relationship between art and realism. Since 2012, the group members Jessica Sehrt, Martin Stiehl and Jeronimo Voss have been involved in urban activism in the run-up to the SYNNIKA space, which they co-founded in 2019, also as residents of the NIKA.haus. Tablar was developed by Martin Stiehl and Jeronimo Voss in collaboration with the SYNNIKA team and the company GP-Objekt Frankfurt.
